These adorable furry bundles of joy you see in the pictures are the work of a breeder named Cameron. He owns and operates a specialized pet farm in the United Kingdom, specially fitted for their comfort. You will fall in love with Izle and Rexy, some of the farm’s residents that often feature on the farm’s Instagram page.

Before you consider a unique pet like this one, let’s take a minute to learn about them! Chinchilla’s originated in the Andes mountains in South America. They are bundled in dense, soft hair that enables them to live high in the mountains, where it can get very chilly.

Their main food groups are hay and grass, so it’s easy and inexpensive to take care of them. But you need to be prepared for some dust clouds as they don’t bathe in water, but in sand! This allows their coats to stay soft and silky, while keeping themselves nice and clean.

Chinchillas are suitable pets for older children and adults and can live for 10 to 20 years. They are naturally clean, quiet, and lack the odor most rodent pets do. They are most active in both the hours of dawn and dusk. All this makes them an ideal long-term pet.
